On Monday, May 3, Harvestworks will present a viewing of F.W. Murnau's classic silent film Faust (1926) with a soundtrack by artist-in-residence Ursel Schlicht. Exploring the aesthetics of both early 20th century European avant-garde and post-Cageian extended piano playing, Schlicht has created a musical synthesis that reshapes the spontaneity of traditional silent film improvisation into a compelling new soundtrack.
