EARLY Edison Film Mash-up ( CURRENT tv )

Hello fellow Rhizomians!

Has anyone been by CURRENT.com to see all the user created ads?

CURRENT tv hosts sponsored contests, which they call "VCAMs" (Viewer Created Ad Message) Basically, viewers make ads for free in the hopes that they get aired (cash prize). This one is for Nikon.

Some are rubbish, but many are alot better than the boring Ashton Kutcher spots promoting the S60

I made two if you care to look, I like to think of them as pieces unto themselves, that make minor reference to the product < sigh- capitalism > :

-The first of these two 30 second spots splices segments of 19th & early 20th century films by Edison and others that I found online at U.S. Library of Congress - along with a charming fiddle and banjo rendition of "Turkey in the Straw."

-The second video is, well, my hand dancing around. (think touch screen)

-In order to get the 3D animation of the camera, I had to find the flash widget (available only at Nikon-Europe) and hack it, reassemble and re-animate. A bit of a chore as you can imagine, but the final effect isn't half bad….

best,
apc
