CALL FOR PARTICIPATION
Graduate Work
Entry Deadline March 5, 2007

[ ESC ]
(Electronic Social Club)

[ ESC ] is organizing an upcoming mixer and presentation night on March 22, 2007, focusing on socially engaged new media and art.

Like a social club, [ ESC ] is formed around a common interest, activity or location; in this case, we seek to bring together MFA students from various art and design programs across New York City to meet and showcase their graduate art work, but most importantly, to form a common network around the theme of creating social dialogue through art and media.

To kick off [ ESC ], we invite you to join us for a mixer and presentation night this spring. We will host a cocktail hour where students from each program will have the opportunity to present their work—both finished and in progress— at Hunter College. The [ESC] network will lead into plans for an exhibition in Fall 2007 that will bring together socially engaged media art projects by various MFA students across New York City.

The mixer and presentation night, which will take place on March 22, 2007, will be a great opportunity to meet other students, get involved with the fall gallery show, share work between schools, and network with and inspire each other. We are also seeking students who would be interested in serving as their programs’ liaison for the upcoming Fall 2007 exhibit.
