Tenure-Track Assistant Professor in New Media Production

FLORIDA ATLANTIC UNIVERSITY, School of Communication and Multimedia Studies, is seeking an Assistant Professor, tenure track, in New Media Production, to teach courses in the School's Multimedia Studies degree program, which includes sequences in Film/Video/New Media and Multimedia Journalism. The School seeks a scholar of digital art and new media practice with expertise in new media as art and communication. Ideal candidates will cross media platforms and have experience in creating and analyzing multimedia texts. Candidates must be ableto apply narrative theory to new media, be skilled in interactivity and
hypermedia, and offer instruction in the integration of text, image and audio. Candidates must have extensive experience with web design and web management, and be proficient with HTML and Dreamweaver. Responsibilities include managing the program's new media site, http://proteus.fau.edu. Ideal applicants will also possess practical skills in more than one of the following media forms: digital photography, computer-based imaging technologies, graphic design,
animation, and multimedia authoring. Effective date of employment: August 2007. MFA or Ph.D. required; preference will go to candidates with active exhibition history and/or publications as well as teaching experience. Application deadline: March 16, 2007.
