Digital Media Festival at the College of Fine Arts, University of the
Philippines
Powered by Canon Philippines, digital media turns the UPCFA Gallery into
an exposition floor, panel discussion series, new media art gallery and,
through webcasting on the Internet, a virtual online gallery. Dubbed
Digital Media Festival 2000
(DMF2K) the first of its kind event features a digital photography
exhibit, new media installation works, experimental desktop prints,
large format prints, an artists talk series, a video art show, and on-
the-spot digital video and digital photography.
DMF2K was conceptualized by Fatima Lasay, lecturer at the College, for
her students in Digital Art and Hypermedia. Opening on October 2 at 9:00
a.m., student works including interactive CD-ROM programs, desktop and
large format prints, installation works, and experimental desktop prints
will be showcased in the UPCFA Gallery as well as a video art
presentation with support from the Video Art class of UP professor
Benjie Cabangis.
