Controlling Trace-root:
You are represented as the blue node that morphs
between the 'X' and the circle. Double click your node to upload your
own .gif or .jpg image to the server. Use "shift+click" on a node to
load that node's image. Drag the nodes with the mouse to create your new
map. Use the build map button to create the new map graphic. Your nodes
image will become more opaque the more often you visit the site.

If nodes move by themselves, then someone else is currently moving the
map at the same time as you.

About Trace-root:
Trace-root is a network based collaborative mapping
project. New maps are generated by the images that the individual map
users upload to the server. The maps change based on activity of the
users and the frequency in which they visit the work. Once a new map is
created the old map is added to the trace-root movie that anyone can
view from the first page of the site. Each map is represented as a
single frame in the movie.
