New Langton Arts is proud to present the projects selected for the Bay
Area Award Show in the Net Work Category:

*The Detritus Sound Consensus Bakery* by Steev Hise
*Pinion* by Masako Odaka

The projects will be accessible from July 12 - September 9, 2000 at

Masako Odaka's project "Pinion" invites the user to modify existing web
pages and uploads them to free servers all over the world, creating some
kind of information noise or echo. Steev Hise's project "The Detritus
Sound Consensus Bakery" uses and averages listeners interactions to
create a "democratic" stream of sound. Though from very different
backgrounds the two artists joins in an investigation of the specific
economical and political structures of the Internet and the cultural
implications of it's technologies.
