FUTURE PHYSICAL
live and on-line
active from January 1998 - June 1999

At the end of a science-dedicated century and at the start of a new
millennium, we face many questions as to the nature and identity of the
physical body for the future. New technologies enable the enhancement of
the traditional senses of the body and bring into discussion the
potentials of both live and virtual participation and processes - taking
us beyond 'live' presence as we understand it now.
Future Physical aims to explore this debate within the context of the
Performing Arts at the crossing point to the third millennium. It has a
focus on sound and movement work with live and on line activities. The
programme is designed to encourage and enable access, participation and
interaction for all. It will be interlocking PRODUCT with PROCESS and
CRITICAL DEBATE.
