CALL FOR "CURIOUS STRONG AND ORIGINAL" ARTISTS FOR ALTOIDS.COM

DEADLINE FOR INQUIRIES: Tuesday, August 17, 1999

We're looking to commission original web-based art works by 2 separate
artists to feature on the Altoids.com Web site (http://www.altoids.com).

Each selected artist will be given a 3-month online show in the "Web
Masters" section of the Altoids.com site.

The "Web Masters" section highlights up-and-coming artists that use the
Web as their medium of choice. Integrating visuals, programming, and
concept, these artists will creatively interpret and reinterpret what
the Web can do. In tone, these pieces should represent the Altoids
"curious, original and strong" brand identity. Experimental,
experiential, immersive, these pieces defy the limits of linear
narrative or still image by requiring active user interaction.

Artists are responsible for creating all necessary programming and
graphics. Programming languages could include HTML, DHTML, and
javascript. Shockwave and Flash will be considered, but not encouraged.
All works must conform to the site's self-contained Altoids-tin-shaped
format.

This project allows for an unusually high amount of creative freedom and
a lot of exposure. This site has generated notice in trade and consumer
press for its creative approach to branding, its technical performance,
and its innovative commissioned online art works. On August 5,
Altoids.com was featured in the New York Times Cybertimes article, "Big
Business Experiments With Web Art"

Please include relevant sample URLs in your initial inquiry.

see it, either wait for the automatic refresh, or hit reload. There's a
50% chance that it will appear.
