This document servers as an introduction of the esc to begin website and
a call for participation to join our project.

esc to begin is an experimental research group developing applications
and hardware for interactive media art. We decided to open source all
our developed software under the Gnu Public Licence and set up a website
to gauge the interest of the open source and media art community.

esc to begin will present its project status during the net_condition
exibition and the second Wizard of OS conference at the ZKM in September

Currently, there are 10 people in our group, working on 14 projects
developed using Java, REALbasic, C, perl and Lingo on Linux, Apple and
Windows. Included are a live video to ascii converter, two tracking
systems, and the first betas of our ongoing game development project.
