It's really not all that bad :) The openings are primarily for New Museum supporters–the people who made the new building possible–and exhibiting artists. Rhizome has a member event in January–members will receive an email invitation soon. Also, even back in the 'good old days', Rhizome held events at art organizations in New York, so collaboration like this has always been part of the organization's history.
