International ArtExpo is selecting all interesting video/short films to
include in the next 2007 exhibitions.

After Urban - Video Art & Architecture event at Monkeytown in Williamsburg,
Brooklyn, New York (December 7-23, 2007). The deadline for applications is
October 15, 2007.

The number of works you can submit is unlimited. All works must be submitted
on DVD (PAL or NTSC). The duration may be any, with a preference given to lengths
of 15 minutes or less.

Send your video submissions (Name/Surname, City/Country, film title, running time,
brief film synopsis) with a CV/biography, videography and an introduction about the

2. Tekfestival– Call for entries
Rome, May 2008

Starting on October 1st (2007) through January 31st (2008) Tekfestival,
an international showcase of independent and social cinema, accepts submissions
for the 7th edition.

Bringing to the surface wandering gazes, opening spaces to directors
walking on the edges of cinema; screening new Italian and
international productions; mixing documentaries, fiction, live
performances, video-installation and video-essays; rediscovering artists
of the past, investing in directors who portray the present; organizing
seven days of independent and social cinema, workshop, conferences,
performances and exhibitions.

The key words of next edition will be migration, crosswalks, permanent
war and resistance, the effects of globalization, media landscapes,
gender and sexual identities and much more.

Tekfestival accepts submissions for two competitive sections:
- Doc Competition, open to Italian documentary directors
- International Doc Competition, open to international documentaries

Admission is free. Accepting films completed after January 1st, 2007.

3. AV FESTIVAL 08

AV Festival is an international festival of electronic arts, featuring visual art,
music and moving image. A biennial event, the festival takes place in Newcastle,
Gateshead, Sunderland and Middlesbrough in the North East of England.

The theme of AV Festival 08 is Broadcast.

This October, the BBC begins to switch off analogue television signals in the UK,
paving the way for television to become entirely digital. At the same time, as
this profound change in our experience of broadcasting takes place, the internet
and mobile networks have created opportunities for us to 'broadcast ourselves' in
entirely new ways. As the landscape of broadcasting changes irrevocably, AV Festival
08 will be a catalyst for debate about the future of broadcasting, and an event to
celebrate a century of on-air and online transmission.

AV Festival 08 will include internationally renowned artists, filmmakers, researchers
and musicians as well as emerging practitioners. It will feature:
- New commissions of art, music and moving image
- Open Air: an outdoor programme of events
- Concerts & Performances
- Exhibitions in galleries and museums
- A moving image programme
- FM Radio Stations
- Club events and parties
- An industry debate
- Seminars, conferences and talks
- Workshops

In the next two months, a series of opportunities for artists, musicians,
filmmakers, DJs, VJs, designers, theorists, technologists, scientists,
philosophers and others to contribute to the festival will be announced.

AV Festival is currently calling for proposals for new site-specific audio artwork
for the Sunderland Winter Gardens. DEADLINE: 15 October 2007
