The Skeleton News [http://www.theskeletonnews.com] of Chicago will be releasing its anniversary edition this October. The Skeleton is a free not-for-profit monthly newspaper managed by Chicago Sunday night volunteers to produce a printed publication composed of anyones submissions. The decidedly offline newspaper excepts any form of submission by email or post, converts it to a DIY newspaper format, and distributes the printed issue throughout the city of Chicago. The Printing is funded entirely by donations and carefully deliberated advertisers (At one meeting volunteers voted to turn down American Apparel for a full page advertisement). The submission selection process is determined by whoever shows up to the layouts, according to what can be fit into that issue. The newspapers concept, literally inspired by a dream, was met with much enthusiasm by the 30 odd in attendance at the first meeting at Liam Warfield's apartment in Pilsen. The paper was an instant success. This year's anniversary edition is themed "Failure".
