IDOLatries at THE BRONX MUSEUM OF THE ARTS as part of the Artist in the Marketplace 27th Annual Exhibition: Here and Elsewhere

Created by New Media Artist, Hector Canonge, IDOLatries is an Interactive Installation that explores the representation of feminine images used on the labels of many Hispanic food products. The female archetypes of "mother," "vamp," "saint," or "virgin" are paired with a products' corresponding commercial Barcode-Label and a visual cinematic narrative which is decoded by the viewer's direct interaction as she/he scans the product.

Special Presentation and talk with the artist, Friday, July 27th from 6 to 8pm.
