March 23rd - April 14th
Opening Reception: March 23rd, 6:00 pm - 10:30 pm
SITE AND ARCHITECTURE WORKSHOP is a forum for the experimental blending of architecture, industrial design, and fine art. The WORKSHOP specializes in hand-crafted work influenced by spatial development, understanding of materials, and conceptuality.
The WORKSHOP will be hosting an exhibition located in a one story industrial building in Center City Philadelphia. Our building and surrounding blocks may soon be demolished to make way for the expansion of the Pennsylvania Convention Center. The exhibition will be a gesture/event exploring the meaning of “greater good”. The term “greater good” is a generalization that infers a relationship of sacrificing by an individual to benefit a group. Will the Greater Good exhibition be a celebration of renewal, a shrine to displacement, or an effigy of condemnation? Each participant will contribute a site specific installation discussing this matter.
Join us for the opening reception of Greater Good Friday, March 23, 2007, a jury selected exhibition of accomplished installation artists, architects and designers.
