Keep in mind that these are absolute first impressions…

Project | Capture has some interesting elements to it. The idea of
connecting the Internet to a very traditional painting practice does
something. Not quite sure what, but it does something. The
"traditional" painting practice I refer to even goes farther than
just "traditional". It's also a bit kitschy to do these rather plain
paintings from photographs. It brings to mind the types of people who
send someone a family portrait and get them to do a large painting
from it. They all pretty much look the same. I think the IP numbers
should be linked though. So that you can just click on them and go to
the site. At first, I thought, why not include the whole URL to the
original image. But then I thought, no. It's interesting to do it
this way. You get an idea of the context but you're still left only
with the painted image. Plenty to think about.

Distant Air. I don't normally go for this type of work. Work that's
essentially static but wrapped up in an interactive Flash package.
But this was good. I really liked the style of the imagery and what I
looked at had a morbid feel to it yet felt quite poetic in an old-
fashioned Myst-like sense. But not to the extent that it really felt
like Myst. The imagery is unique enough to transcend that. The
downside was that I have a 12 inch powerbook and the image didn't fit
on my screen and there were no scrollbars.

Organisation : Postcommunication - I really don't get what's going on
here. Sounds a bit too complex for my tastes.
