461 3rd Avenue (between 9th & 10th Sts.)
PoGo, Brooklyn (Park Slope/Gowanus)
Friday, February 23
8:00-11:00 pm
LEMURplex converts into an oversized living-room to present
Tranzducer, a performance and interactive gallery event on the last
Friday of every month.
Tranzducer.002, on February 23rd, will feature Mike Lowenstern's
Faded Music: bass clarinet, body percussion and translucent
technology. This set will feature music from Lowenstern's fourth CD,
"Fade," with a pretty heavy dose of nostalgia, jazz, funk and
electronics. Bob Huott's band FRYLAB will be playing a mixture of
acoustic and electronic: tenor sax, bass, extended baritone guitar
and Bob's new electronic instrument The Bean. Jane Rigler, flutist
and electronic musician, will be performing improvised and composed
music for augmented flute.
This follows January's inaugural event, which was a rousing success.
Tranzducer.001 featured performances by Jamie Allen, Loud Objects,
Joshua Fried's Radio Wonderland, and a special Sonic Banana
appearance by LEMUR founder Eric Singer, plus installations by LEMUR,
Rocio Barcia, Leif Krinkle and Nick Sears.
See http://lemurplex.org and http://tranzducer.com for more
information. Tranzducer is curated by Jamie Allen, Tristan Perich and
Eric Singer.
