Interesting guitar players needed for NYC gallery performance

  • Deadline:
    Oct. 7, 2006, 4:44 p.m.

I am looking for eight interesting, unorthodox, experimental electric guitar players for a performance at Hogar Collection, a gallery in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, NY. The piece, developed for Dispatx.com, is culminating in this performance. Carbon paper envelopes were sent to various locations around the world and have been returned with marks from their trip. These will be used as scores for the performance, which will take place on Saturday, November 4th at 7:00pm.

I'm looking for guitar players who are able to fit within a group improvisation setting, are into making really interesting music, and who are reliable and are going to show up on time.

What I can't provide:
Payment in the form of money.

What I can provide:
Payment in the form of free beer at the performance, dinner, and subway fare.
A PA, so there's no need to bring your amp. Just your guitar, a cable, and whatever processing equipment you need.
A great, supportive crowd.
Gratitude and many thanks.

More info on the project can be found on my website, www.jeffreythompson.org, and at www.dispatx.com/wip.

If you're interested, please feel free to contact me with a MySpace or website link, or some way to check out what you do. There will be a short rehearsal the afternoon before the show, then dinner on me and the performance at 7.

Thanks.
