Announcing the 2007 4th Annual Women's Caucus for Art (WCA)
International Video Shorts Festival Call for Artists.
The WCA Video Shorts Festival will take place during the 2007 College Art
Association Conference scheduled in New York City, NY, next February.
This screening program will take place on February 18th, and is part of the WCA National Conference which runs from Feb. 17th -19th, 2007, in NYC.
Sheryl Mousley, our juror for the 2007 program, is Curator of Film/Video at Walker Art Center in Minneapolis where she sets the artistic direction of the museum¹s Film/Video Department. In producing contemporary and historical media exhibition programs, she researches and creates conceptual based film series, artist retrospectives,Regis Dialogues, and artist-in-residence projects. She directs the acquisition and presentation of the Ruben Film/Study Collection and curates the annual Women With Vision festival, a showcase of women filmmakers, directors, and artists.

GUIDELINES
The 2007 WCA International Video Shorts Festival call seeks to find and
exhibit challenging and visionary Video short works that are original in their use of the medium.

OVERVIEW
2007 WCA International Video Festival accepts video entries of all
lengths under 15 minutes, and genres: experimental, narrative,
documentary, animation, collage. WCA also accepts pieces produced in
any year. Video entries must be created by videographers,
or directed by or co-directed by women.
The Video Shorts Screening will be possible in this format: DVD

DEADLINE: preview submission December 10, 2006.

PREVIEW FORMAT:
5 min. DVD format. (cued to start)

EXHIBITION FORMAT:
DVD / mini DV tape preferred

ENTRY FEE:

SHIPPING MATERIALS:
Do not send your submission in a fiber filled envelope. The dust
from these packages damages VCR’s and other tapes.

RETURN OF YOUR MATERIALS:
WCA does not return submission materials unless a Self Addressed
Stamped Envelope (SASE) is provided by the entrant. If you are an
international entrant do not use regular stamps from your country
they will not work in the US. Go to your post office and ask them
what you will need for return delivery from the US to your country.
There are pre-paid stamp vouchers you can buy. Please do not use a
meter machine to pay for postage.

January 4, 2007: Notification of final decision of Jurors
January 5th non-accepted videos returned (SASE required)
January 10th Accepted works must be postmarked by this date in final
screening format.

February 18, 2007: Opening NYCScreening

AGREEMENT
Submission of work to the WCA 2007 International Video Shorts will
constitute an agreement to all conditions set forth in this prospectus, including permission for reproduction and for use in general publicity. The reproductions
of the artwork may be used in the future for promotions and advertising of the screenings and it's programs.
