Anya Liftig will present a multi-media performance incorporating many
disparate elements to explore themes of identity and memory. Using vintage
film, movement, body weaving and materials as diverse as cakes, nylon
hosiery and balloons, Liftig will create a living environment on stage.
'Collusion' investigates the juncture of performance and installation.
Liftig is a nationally and internationally recognized artist who has
performed and published in many venues including, The New York Times
Magazine, Public Culture, Stable 1894, Eyedrum, HERE Arts Center, d.u.m.b.o.
under the bridge festival, Marymount Manhattan College and the University of
Wisconsin. A graduate of Yale University, she danced for many years as a
scholarship student at the Martha Graham Center for Contemporary Dance and
studied with Carol Sumner, Edwina Fontaine and Allegra Kent at the Stamford
City Ballet.
