InterMap

Space is transfigured and transformed in a human-scale interactive maze created by North Pitney. The 11' x 13' navigable space is rendered infinite as overhead cameras track movement and relay the participant's location to a computer that opens and closes doors to activate the space. As the path changes, the participant is forced to re-evaluate their immediate relationship to the dynamic space.

An opening reception will be held on Saturday, September 6th at 8pm. Please keep in mind that as InterMap can accommodate only one participant at a time, appointments are suggested. Appointments will not be taken during the reception, however, when the maze will operate on a first come first serve basis.
Intermap will run from September 1st-15th. Appointments can be made by calling 510-703-8069, or emailing northp@mac.com

The exhibition is held in conjunction with the Fine Arts Cinema in Berkeley, CA and made possible through the generous support of MakingThings (www.makingthings.com) The maze is located at 1946 Martin Luther King Jr. Way in Berkeley, California.
