Elava Silakka / Live Herring is a new Nordic net art exhibition event, established in 2005 with a primary aim to present Nordic net art both in the net and in the exhibition space.

All Nordic new media artists are invited to submit works to a net art exhibition.
Submission started: may 27th, 2006
Submission of works will close: october 20th, 2006

The jury will select limited number of art works to be exhibited in exhibition room and which will be introduced more closely. All submitted art works that are eligible will be exhibited with submitted artist bio and work description on www.liveherring.org net site during the exhibition. There will be one computer reserved for all submitted works at the exhibition space.

Theme for the entries is free. First Elava Silakka / Live Herring exhibition aims to give an overview on Nordic net art in all levels.

Genre + technique are open as long as the art work is exhibited via internet: html, flash, vrml etc.

What kind of works are eligible?
Art works may be interactive, semi-interactive or non-interactive; hyper narratives, data based or abstract etc.
HOWEVER: Elava Silakka / Live Herring won't accept f.ex. still images or image series even if they are placed into html-page. If you're not sure, submit your work and let us decide.

Who are eligible?
All artists living permanently in Denmark, Faeroe Islands, Finland, Iceland, Norway or Sweden and the citizens of these countries living abroad.
