Basic Photoshop Intensive
Instructor: Che Easson
Location: Digital Media Lab
Saturday, August 19th
5p-9p (4 hours)
$80 members/$100 non-members
Photoshop is the most common and useful of all the graphics programs. It can be used for everything from cleaning up photos to creating collages. In this intensive for beginners, students will leave knowing about removing blemishes on photographs, burning and dodging, adjusting contrast, brightness, saturation and color cast. They will learn how to work with layers: create them, reorder them, and merge them. They will learn how to use text with images, how to draw, what a path is, the difference between vector and raster. They will learn how to collage images with clean-cut edges and smooth blending. They will learn how to manipulate an image through distortion, perspective, rotation, inversion, and warping. They will also learn basic key commands.
Che Easson is a photographer, filmmaker, and artist living in Brooklyn. He is a graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design who has exhibited extensively in the Northeast and Southern United States. He once paddled a canoe down the Mississippi River, landing in New Orleans and living there for one year.
