CHICAGO ARTISTS' COALITION UNVEILS ITS
2005 ARTISTS' GALLERY GUIDE
Chicago and the Surrounding Area

Chicago – The Chicago Artists' Coalition (CAC) announces the release of the much-anticipated 2005 edition of its popular Artists' Gallery Guide to Chicago and the Surrounding Area, covering not only the city but much of the Midwest as well. The latest update to this indispensable reference contains more than 185 pages and can be ordered or picked-up directly from the Chicago Artists' Coalition, 11 E. Hubbard, 7th Fl., Chicago, IL 60611, 312.670-2060–$18 CAC members, $22 nonmembers (plus $3 postage if ordered by mail). The Guide will also soon be available on Amazon.com and through select local booksellers. The Sara Lee Foundation is the exclusive sponsor of the book.
This unique reference tool not only presents facts artists need to know for galleries, museums and other venues–preferred methods of submission, contract info, etc.–but dually functions as a "directory assistance" for journalists, gallery goers or time-crunched art buyers seeking only those venues catering to specific needs. The beefed-up 2005 edition covers Chicago, Chicago suburbs, Illinois, Iowa, Wisconsin, Indiana and Michigan, plus the St. Louis area and a special section on non-traditional exhibition spaces (coffeehouses, restaurants, bars, etc.).
The 2005 edition of the Artists' Gallery Guide is the most comprehensive resource on Midwestern galleries to date. Complete with a full index and copy of the Illinois Consignment Act with sample contract, it's something no serious artist should be without–and something even the casual art aficionado will find invaluable.
The Chicago Artists' Coalition is a non-profit visual arts organization. Services include an information resource center, job referral service, web-site slide registry, group health insurance, a national credit union and numerous publications including Chicago Artists' News, a monthly newspaper.
