NFF invites you to show good form

Vancouver's New Forms Festival celebrates emerging art forms by presenting
mixed media performances of music, visual, and digital art.

The New Forms Festival runs August 1-4, 2002.

http://www.capitalmag.com/newformsfestival/

Last year, the first annual New Forms Festival featured three dynamic
evenings of performances by more than fifty artists, musicians, DJs,
dancers, writers, and body artists at ten venues in the Main Street and
downtown areas.

The 2002 New Forms Festival (August 1-4) features four evenings of mixed
media performance plus a full-day 'State of the Art' panel discussion series
that will explore contemporary issues in new music and the media arts.

Metamorphosis

The theme of the 2002 New Forms Festival is metamorphosis.

This year's festival will journey through current transformations in the
emergent musical genres and visual modes of 'scratch' video, post-digital
'glitch' music, hip-hop, and abstractions.

Festival Schedule

August 01………..Scratch Video
August 02………..Post-Digital Music
August 03………..Day: 'State of the Art' Conference Series
August 03………..Night: Hip-Hop 1200
August 04………..Abstractions / Closing Gala

(VMASS).

Call for Volunteers

Velocity Media Arts Services Society is seeking enthusiastic and motivated
volunteers to assist with the 2nd Annual New Forms Festival. This year's
festival takes place from August 1-4, 2002.

These four evenings will journey through current transformations in the
emergent musical genres and visual modes of 'scratch' video, post-digital
'glitch' music, hip-hop, and abstractions.

In order to mount a successful, high profile festival, NFF needs volunteers
to work in various areas of hospitality (greeting and assisting artists),
technical production (stage hands), event staging (box office, ushers,
security, etc.) and pre-festival promotion (street team).

Individuals are required to work two shifts over the course of the festival
and NFF rewards volunteers with guest access to specified performances.

If you are interested in contributing your talents to the festival, email
nffvolunteer@hotmail.com with your name, email, phone number, time schedule
(availability) and the area in which you would like to work.

Please include your relevant skills, experiences or interests.

If you have any questions or comments, please contact NFF Volunteer
Coordinator Stephanie Dunn at stepha_nee@hotmail.com for more info.
