Call for Archive Material

Exit Art, a nonprofit
cultural space, seeks materials for an archive project that celebrates the LGBT
community's role and significance in contemporary society. For the archives, we
are asking the LGBT community to submit an object / memento that is personally
important to you as an individual in the gay community. The object could be a
photograph, book, movie, poem, drawing, etc. with an explanation of its
significance. <o:p></o:p>

All materials submitted to
the archive will be displayed in conjunction with the exhibition: Homomuseum:
Heroes and Moments, opening
Saturday, May 21, 7-10pm.<o:p></o:p>

The Homomuseum Archive
will complement the exhibition which is structured around the idea of an
imaginary national art museum dedicated to the presentation and historicizing
of art made by LGBT artists. Twenty-four projects have already been selected
for the exhibition. Archive materials will be displayed in conjunction with the
exhibition until July 30, 2005. Materials will then become part of Exit Art's
archive, which is open and accessible to the public for research. All
submitted materials will not be returned.<o:p></o:p>
