About Social Sculpture
Joseph Beuys coined the phrase in the 70's to describe a genre of socially
engaged, interdisciplinary, artistic actions where people are collaborators
and art works are environments or sets of rules. The commissioned project
can take a variety of forms, including gaming, tactical media, network,
interactive installation, moving image or conceptual projects that blur
traditional boundaries between production, education, performance and
exhibition.
