Upgrade! Boston

Turbulence.org and Art Interactive are pleased to announce "Upgrade!
Boston," a monthly gathering of new media artists and curators founded
by Turbulence.org and co-organized with Art Interactive. The Upgrade!
will foster dialogue and create opportunities for collaboration within
the media art community. At each meeting one or two artists/curators
will present work in progress and participate in a discussion.

Our spring lineup is as follows:
January 25, 2005–Yael Kanarek
February–Teri Rueb
March–Larissa Harris
April–kanarinka

Beginning in May, artists/curators who have attended two or more
meetings will be eligible to present.

Upgrade! New York was started in 1999 by Yael Kanarek. Since March 2000,
numerous new media artists and curators have gathered monthly at Eyebeam
Atelier in New York City, including Cary Peppermint, Robbin Murphy,
Golan Levin, Mary Flanagan, Marie Sester, Martin Wattenberg & Marek
Walczak, Christiane Paul, Jon Ippolito & Keith Frank, Margot Lovejoy and
John Klima.

In September 2003, Kate Armstrong began Upgrade! Vancouver, and on
October 1, 2004 Upgrade! Montreal was launched at the Society for Arts
and Technology, Montreal by Tobias van Veen. Eyebeam is "very happy with
the other locations that are emerging and see them as an informal
network with future potential for collaboration and exchange" (Kanarek).

The first meeting is on Tuesday, January 25, 7:00 p.m. at Art
Interactive, 130 Bishop Allen Drive, at the corner of Prospect Street,
Cambridge.
