DiVA, the first Digital & Video Art Fair in the United States, will be launched this November, at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Lower Manhattan.
DiVA, the first art fair dedicated exclusively to digital and video art, will serve as an international meeting place for video and digital Art Dealers, Museums, Curators, Artists and Collectors. It will feature the work of the most innovative artists in the field. It is created and produced by Frere Independent.
In this first edition, it will feature 39 top exhibitors, including galleries and art dealers who represent Digital and Video Artists at the forefront of digital and video creation. DiVA is aimed at galleries and art dealers who are interested in the market place for these distinctive new media.
Video and digital art are rapidly acquiring importance in the international art world. Digital video, photography, animation, virtual reality, printmaking, sculpture and architecture are all part of a dynamic arena created by Digital technology. Video in particular is used more and more by artists who normally work in other disciplines.
DIVA will be open for the general public from Friday, November 12 thru Sunday November 14th, at the Embassy Suites Hotel, at the waterfront in Lower Manhattan. It features an amazing 14 story sunlit atrium with sweeping views of the Hudson River. Each exhibitor will be provided with 450 to 800 square feet of exhibition space and a spacious private living room and bedroom.
The opening night preview party will be on Thursday, November 11th, from 6 to 10 pm, during which the exhibitors’ suites will be open.

Frere Independent is a non-profit organization that provides new avenues of dissemination and widespread visibility to international emerging and independent artists working in non-traditional mediums. DiVA will feature 40 Contemporary Art Galleries and Institutions. It is the only fair of its kind in the United States, as is Loop, its successful counterpart in Europe.
