Meet with new media curator Wayne Ashley
Videotage is delighted to invite you to a special reception and refreshment=
to meet with Wayne Ashley, organizing curator of The Future of War confere=
nce and independent new media creator, curator, and consultant.

Presently, Wayne holds the position of curator of new media, Thundergulch, =
the new media arts initiative of the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council (LMCC=
) where he organizes public programming around art and technology issues. H=
e is collaborating with choreographer Ralph Lemon, ASU and Walker Art Cente=
r on House[raw], a three-year multidisciplinary online project; and most re=
cently curated an online exhibit for Nikelab.com.

From 1999 to 2001, Wayne was the first Manager of New Media at BAM (Brookly=
n Academy of Music), one of America's foremost presenters of contemporary m=
usic, opera, theater, dance and film from around the world. He was hired to=
establish BAM's New Media Department; design, direct, and implement Arts i=
n Multimedia (AIM), a research, art and technology project with Bell Labs. =
He produced and presented works by Mark Hansen/Ben Rubin, Paul Kaiser, and =
John Jesurun and conceived and directed web documentaries on David Rousseve=
and Ralph Lemon. He curated Under_score, an online exhibition of net art, =
sound, and essays from Australia as part of BAM's Next Wave Down Under Fest=
ival 2001. Wayne has an MA and Ph.D. from New York University's Performance=
Studies Department.

He is interested in meeting people in new media especially artists in Hong =
Kong whom he can invite to participate in a big event in New York next year=
and explore further collaborations possibilities.
