* THE END OF WORLD WIDE VIDEO FESTIVAL?
The Dutch Arts Council (Raad voor Cultuur) has advised the State Secretary of Culture to stop subsidizing the World Wide Video Festival from 2005 on. If the advice by the Arts Council is followed the World Wide Video Festival will lose its main subsidizer. This would mean that the 21st edition of the World Wide Video Festival would also be the last.

We have opened a support page on our website to allow artists, members of the public and professionals to demonstrate their support for the World Wide Video Festival. The quality and quantity of the messages on this page could turn out to be a crucial factor when the final decision about the future of the festival is made by the State Secretary of Media and Culture and the Dutch Parliament in September. Expressions of support CAN make a difference. Please let us know what you think/how you feel. You will also find reactions by artists, members of the public and professionals to the Arts Council's advice, and the letter of objection we have sent to the Secretary of Culture.
