Turbulence Spotlight: "Re_Cycled_Views" by Eduardo Navas
http://turbulence.org/spotlight/navas
"Re_Cycled_Views" deals with the recycling of information that is common
in both contemporary art practice and the mass media, and exposes the
tendency of individuals to get lost in information as abstraction and
their subsequent failure to achieve real understanding. Navas
appropriates critical writings from Net Art Review, an online
collaborative that he founded in February 2003. His selections reflect
his interest in war, racial identity, and other complex global issues.
"Re_Cycled_Views" recontextualizes these reviews by focusing on art
practice as criticism.
