I guess what I meant by the toll-booth analogy is that, like most highways, there is not a toll-booth on every stretch of the highway. There is only a handful that guard the basic portals (those may be the ones that get really expensive). Otherwise, there still might be lots of un-tolled highway to be discovered.

The toll I am most worried about is the possibility of one at Google.com

I consult that Oracle just about everyday to find those un-tolled websites I speak of.

I hope Google remains just as free as the best sites out there at the moment.
