The Johnny Carson School of Theatre and Film at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln seeks a dynamic faculty member for a tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor of Theatre and Film/Digital Arts. Start date August 18, 2008.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATION: Terminal Degree or equivalent industry experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Proficiency and/or experience in any of the following areas: 2D & 3D Animation, Compositing, Web Design, Digital Video, Production and Post-production, Motion Graphics for Video, Motion Capture, Virtual Scene Design, Gaming, and Teaching.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Teach graduate and undergraduate courses in digital media production, which may include but are not limited to web design, digital design, multimedia authoring, interactivity, gaming, computer animation, and image compositing. The successful candidate will be expected to develop and maintain a national profile in the industry, demonstrate a commitment to interdisciplinary teaching, and to play an active role in the development and implementation of the College’s Interdisciplinary Digital Arts Initiative. The candidate will also be expected to remain current in digital media production technologies, advise and participate in the creation of new courses, mentor/supervise graduate and undergraduate projects and theses, supervise equipment & software maintenance and contribute to intra and interdisciplinary curriculum instruction and development.
