Vaudeville Park showcases unique and affordable community arts programming in Williamsburg Brooklyn, providing local artists with the opportunity to hone their craft in a venue that is accessible, welcoming and professional.
Over the past three years, Vaudeville Park has created an open-minded environment in which to display bold new art through gallery showcases, screenings, concerts, and mixed-media events. Much of our success relies on the work of committed volunteers like you.
Volunteers have the opportunity to become part of the local art community and gain real-world experience in event production, publicity, web design, and non-profit management, all while attending exciting events and workshops free-of-charge. We are currently interviewing new volunteers and interns for the following positions:
1) Outreach Volunteers ensure that our programs reach as large an audience as possible, and gain invaluable experience in publicity and public relations.
Responsibilities include: communicating with publications and organizations so events are publicized in a timely manner, managing press contacts to ensure they are up-to-date, furthering outreach by fostering relationships with new publications, and drafting or proofreading weekly email blasts.
2) Web Development Volunteers help update and maintain Vaudeville Park's home page and online catalog, building skills and experience in HTML, PHP, CSS, Joomla, Drupal, and web design.
Responsibilities include: updating website content and assisting in website development.
3) New Media Volunteers help engage and build our audience through new and social media outlets.
Responsibilities include: Posting photos and updates to our website, Facebook, Twitter, Vimeo and Youtube feeds.
4) Development Volunteers help us create and implement funding strategies and gain experience in grantwriting and copyediting.
Responsibilities include: Researching philanthropic foundations, managing relationships and communication with current funding organizations, helping make contact with new funding prospects, grantwriting and proofreading submissions.
5) Event Volunteers help our programs run smoothly, gain real-world production experience and get to see some great shows.
We need help in whatever you do best. Regular volunteers handle the door, tend bar, perform installations for gallery shows, dazzle us with their camera skills, and run sound. Volunteer positions are not exclusive, so if you are interested in more than one please let us know.
