At a time like this, when various governments have in the past & to present
day have ignored the real needs of the world 's people for their own
political gains and cynical (behind the scenes) dealings involved in
corruption (as usual). It can bring us to wonder why should anyone bother
trying to make difference at all, as we fall into the feeling of 'utter'
hopelessness.
Yes, personal depression and disturbed emotions effect us, regarding the
hypocrisy and bigoted people who run this world, in all areas. This is a
humane and emphatic function and those who are keen for a better world than
what we have been given must continue to declare their feelings about such
traumatic issues effecting less fortunate 'mudered' souls. Those who
actually give a damn, knowing that the Bush Administration is creating shock
waves in placing itself above other countries in the world as the imperial
GOD-head state. Must continue in bringing about their distaste and regret,
that such fools are allowed to cause such irresponsible shifts in this
world against so many people's wills.
Let us not forget that we are being run by a group of 'men' who are not
interested in anyone's needs other than their own interests. George Bush
left a capital where tens of thousands of demonstrators marched against the
war on Saturday. Tony Blair traveled from London where thousands more
protested an unpopular war. And Spain's Jose Maria Aznar left a nation where
an estimated 800,000 people demonstrated in Madrid and Barcelona. So the
leaders decided to hide together on an island.
We are dealing with delusory 'males' not interested at all that the world
desperately wishes for a more grown up attitude, wanting the replacement of
the traditional 'backward' posturing of corporate funded bully boys. Hey
Bush! How many more kids are you willing to kill for your egocentric sadien
needs?
As the eyes of the world shift its axis of vision onto Iraq, Israeli's
armies are putting the boot in, killing many more Palestinians. America,
Bush and the UK have said through their decisions to start a war, that it is
ok to extricate yet civilian lives. Bush mentioned in his speech which was
terrifying ".as I understand the wars of the 21st century are going to
require incredible international cooperation." The war(S) of the 20th
Century. Meaning that he has interests in getting involved in other wars. So
the Bush administration plans to cause even more turmoil on this planet,
thus more 'collateral damage'.
The Christianization/Democratization of the Middle East: This is the
mind-boggler. Iraq is just the beginning of a sweeping, enduring campaign to
use our might to bring Christian democracy to the Middle East. The
Perle-Wolfowitz-Kristol doctrine is to use Iraq a s the springboard to
regime changes throughout the region. It is based on a perception that, once
we use our power to impose Christian democracy in Iraq, the American wind of
freedom will "transform" the globe from Indonesia to Palestine. Thomas F.

The impact of 9/11 has proved a substantially greater disaster not just on
America but to the rest of the world. For this unfortunate event did not
just kill the victims of the 'Twin Towers' but it also is a seemingly
perpetual excuse for those unfeeling, power hungry American Administration
to forge its ugly crusade in hurting thousands more civilians whom are
caught in its 'bombgazmic' path.
As (Eryk) referred:-
>That means I have lost my right to sit around and complain whilst doing
nothing. In fact, in light of Rachel Corrie, I have to wonder if I actually
even give a shit about war. Because if I cared, I could be in front of a
Palestinian bulldozer too.
Very true, but revolution or local/world change is not brought about just by
direct action, it is also brought about via the function and pro-active
experience of everyday interaction. Imagine if all those emails were not
sent around the world before those mass rallies against the war? There would
of been much less information, debate like on this list and many others. I
have been in contact with many individuals of whom I have never met and
probably never will, who are against such basic & infantile actions of war.
Each of us has a responsibility to argue our genuine feelings where ever we
are, against those who are not interested in stopping the killings.
Consciousness is the issue, being aware and wanting to know the realities
and unreality's that are entwined in our lives and others out there. Every
little action counts, whatever it is.
