Something is always referred to, while no direct reference (let alone
correspondence), is possible through language.
Not even names (kripke) - although cyclic self-reference is possible
(Tarski)

That is the uncertainty and therefore risk of any language and media


But then,
If you do not recognize patterns, you cannot recognize uncertainties:
self-reference

But what about [ the unknown ]. Its
always bigger.
