Hi Folks:
It would be great if you could include the following info on
our Residency Program for Artists in the Rhizome Digest. If you
need more info, let me know. Thanks!

The Artists' Enclave at I-Park
Announcement – 2003 Residency Program
The 2003 schedule for the Artists’ Enclave at I-Park will run
somewhat differently than in 2002. Typical 4- and 5-week
residencies will be offered in three sessions: Spring (May),
Summer (June – July) and Fall (September – October). We will
not operate during the month of August. We will attempt to
devote the Spring (May) session to those applicants wishing to
participate in the Improbable Gardens and/or Neo-Necropolis
programs. For more information on these programs, contact the
Radek Associates office. Note that some exceptions to the 4-5
week format will be granted to those with compelling
circumstances.
The residency program is designed to encourage and reward
serious individuals committed to the production of high
quality, highly creative work in the following fields:
 Music composition
 Landscape and garden design
 The visual arts
 Architecture
 Creative writing
Separate living and working facilities are provided at no
charge with the artist paying his or her personal expenses
(food, transportation, materials). There is a modest
participatory element involved in the residency.
In keeping with its mission, the Artists’ Enclave is partial to
representational as opposed to purely abstract works in the
visual arts and tonal/melodic versus minimalist or serialist
forms in the field of music. Landscape and garden designers
will be encouraged to participate in I-Park’s Improbable
Gardens project. Sculptors are asked to consider proposing a
memorial piece for inclusion in the Neo-Necropolis. We have an
electric kiln available for clay sculptors.
Residencies at the Artists’ Enclave are primarily intended for
project-specific, as opposed to purely experimental, pursuits.
Unfortunately, we are not in a position to offer financial
assistance for residencies at this time.
International applications are welcome. Though we are not well-
positioned to help with visa complications, we are prepared to
issue letters of invitation to successful applicants.
If you wish to receive an application package, please send your
inquiry to:

became aware of the program. Inquiries lacking this
information will be returned.
You should also indicate the format in which you’d like to
receive the application materials: Word files, PDF files or
hard copies sent via conventional mail.
Application deadline for the 2003 season is January 31, 2003
Important: your application should be received here by the
January 31st deadline. Overseas applicants in particular
should take mailing time into consideration.
In the event that there remain unassigned residencies after the
February 2003 selection process, a second round may be
conducted in April or May. If you miss the January deadline,
you may wish to check back around that time frame for further
information.
