This month The Unstitute celebrates 5 years of down-going since the initial code was excavated back in September of 2010.
In November 2015, we will continue our excavations from a new location: the jungles of Southern India. Our covert operations in London are over for now.
The Unstitute takes a line of flight, as inverted economic migrants escaping the wealth of the Occidental world, to take our vision to the world's largest democracy to pursue greater targets for the new millennium in a progressive alliance with humanity and a techno-ecological relationship with economics.

The Unstitute UN Reality presents video works by 6 international artists selected to represent the first major group screening at the Projection Room to celebrate 5 years since The Unstitute dug its first hole underground.
Selected from many unspecified open submissions, (and starting with Harold Charre's video 'In between',) over time a distinct body of work evolved that independently render existential subject matter rich in symbolism, dream imagery and innovative videography techniques.
This group presentation seeks to invite some of the less conscious recesses of the human psyche to the fore in this screening with a selection of excellent works that make this subject area so paradoxical and complex. We hope there are areas of resonance within our group of loyal followers…YOU!

The 10th edition of [dis]Corporate Bodies presents works by queer male artists. Whilst representing a small demographic within a much greater and more diverse international queer community, guest curator Zach Hill has assembled a group of works which create new dynamic tensions and relations within the concentric circles of networked social experience. Touching on themes that are familiar and sometimes strange: stardom, capitalism, rejection, gratitude, love, and loss as the works offer singular snapshots into past and present queer narratives. From an abusive relationship to a screaming female the “outlier” is presented as figure within a self-constructed, eccentric, and reflective world.
When opening the can of worms that is the human experience, there is only one choice: leave it open

Blackmail
by The Institute of Film and Video Studies

'Blackmail' documents an ongoing quest for attaining personal/existential freedom by exploring Klossowski's idea of ‘inexchangeable inwardness’. Through the paradoxes of the architectural uncanny and the subjective experience set within, the concept of action within the constructed reality of the video is established. In this pursuit for 'authentic', inexchangeable subjectivity, the concept of ‘outside and inside’ is explored suggesting that inner reality can only be perceived by the subject, distorted by the subject, and only ever inferred by those perceiving it as having any tangible status within reality.
