FUTURE MAPPERS is a 5 hour projection mapping workshop where students will learn basic knowledge about projection mapping technology. Projection mapping can turn almost any surface into a dynamic video display for art projects, including large projection onto buildings.

DURING THE 5 HOURS YOU WILL LEARN

Basic knowledge of choosing the right projector for a project.
Basic knowledge of making a 2 and 3 dimensional projection mapping surface.
Learn how to make animation and video contents using Modul8.
Learn how to map 2 or 3 dimensional surface using MadMapper.

Projection mapping uses specialized software to warp and blend projected images so they fit perfectly on irregularly-shaped “screens”. These projections then become independent organisms, expressing characters through their designated language: that of space, light, form and sound.

Our exercise during the workshop will be choosing the right projector, recognizing how the video content relates to the shape of the surface and projecting onto a simple 2 or 3 dimensional surface with MadMapper and video content created in Modul8.
