The image of woman stirs man and woman alike – arguably to a greater depth than does the image of man. There is a “feminine mystique” because it is a “man’s world.” But what happens to that mystique, especially among artists, as women struggle for their half? The artists in “Feminine Mystique” ponder this question. And in “Treasures from the 21st Century” Larry Schuster contemplates the changing status but eternal condition of a higher beauty, the beauty of light itself.

Alongside the stylistic array among these talented women artists, it’s appreciated that two male viewpoints are also included. After all, the concept of the feminine mystique has everything to do with perception, and men are doing a lot of that perceiving! Of course, there’s also the matter of how women perceive each other
and themselves. Everyone has something to contribute to this imperative and neverending
conversation, and this exhibition certainly moves the story forward.

“Feminine Mystique,”- the words by themselves conjure up images of beauty and wonder. What
is woman? Like a shimmering diamond or an intricate mandala, she is magic, sex, and power. Her secrets are forever shifting and can never be fully grasped. That is the inspiration for this
presentation. The artists in this exhibition, like facet of a diamond, were chosen for the
brilliance of their works and unique visions of “Feminine Mystique.”

Treasures from the 21st Century- Larry Schuster is a master sculptor whose museum quality
works reflect a rare and magnificent vision. This vision transports us to a time and place of
grandeur and transcendence, a place beloved by kings and empire builders.
