DIY digital instruments using Arduino + SuperCollider by Ian Jarvis
February 16th 2014, 10am – 5pm, $100
@ NAISA Space (#252), 601 Christie St

Learn the basics of building your own DIY digital instrument using an Arduino microcontroller and SuperCollider. Topics to be covered include: coding, transducers, basic electronics, Arduino microcontrollers, serial communication, digital audio, SuperCollider, and digital signal processing. The workshop will consist of explanations and demonstrations from the instructor concurrent with hands on development of a personal digital instrument. The workshop is designed around the trajectory of information from the real world through a sensor to the arduino, through serial communication to a computer (SuperCollider), mapped to digital signal processing functions and finally to the resulting sound via a speaker.

Option to purchase the Arduino board + accessories for additional $60 following the workshop.
