INAUGURAL

  • Location:
321 Gallery, 321 Washington Ave, Brooklyn, NY - New York, 11205, US

321 Gallery presents INAUGURAL, a group exhibition of recent work by 18 artists that reveals a dynamic range of works across a variety of mediums and artistic processes.

Artists:
Jake Borndal, Cait Carouge, Sophia Cleary, Rios and Fields, Gil Gentile, Joseph Imhauser, Haley Josephs, Anne Kunsemiller, Nathanial de Large, Michael Marcelle, Tin Nguyen, Eva O'Leary, Nora Slade, Taylor, Daniel Terna, Kkory Trolio, Thomas Trudgeon, and Evan Whale.

Whether exploring the limitations and material of photography or the boundaries of the gallery space itself, the works in INAUGURAL present an array of artworks being made in New York today. Kkory Trolio’s finger-painted photographs and Evan Whale’s color prints on Fujiflex paper examine photo-developer and paper types; the familiarity of materials is captured with Jake Borndal's casted aluminum sculpture which hangs from a structural support beam, and the artist Taylor presents work hanging from a fire-proof door; Rios and Fields will be premiering a video in the living room project space, and Sophia Cleary’s performance engages with the intimate while interviewing attendees in a minivan outside.

This exhibition marks the re-inauguration of 3 2 1 since the gallery closed for renovations in March 2013.
