Dear Balilla Pratella, great futurist musician,
In Rome, at the crowded theater Costanzi, while, with my futurist friends Marinetti, Boccioni, Carrà, Balla, Soffici, Papini, Cavacchioli, I was listening to your orchestral performance of your passionate futurist music, appeared to my mind a new kind of art that only you could create: l'Arte dei Rumori, logic consequence of your wonderful innovations.
The exhibition collects an original copy of the manifesto, a series of paintings and drawings, engravings and a collection of letters between the artist and the mentor of Futurism: Filippo Tommaso Marinetti.
The whole artistic project will start from MAG, Como, which manages the Luigi Russolo’s archive, then it will transfer at Heart SPAZIO VIVO, Vimercate, where, further the paintings, it will be analyzed the musical aspect that define nowadays electronic and concrete music.
In addition to the exhibition, there will be two conferences about the poliedric figure of Russolo: the first one focused on the musical aspect, hold by Prof. Pietro Verardo and Prof.ssa Guglielmina Tieri, while the second one on the pictorial aspect, hold by Prof.ssa Simona Bartolena.
