Speed Bump, a trio consisting of cellists Eric Allen and Hamilton Berry and violist Nathan Schram, formed in 2011 with the aim of arranging jazz tunes for their unusual instrumentation. Their current project is devoted to exploring issues of texture and space in the music of Thelonious Monk.
