Creating the FluxNet
pCode Software invites illustrators, animators, digital artists to
participate in the creation of the FluxNet, a new graphical web paralleling
the current HTML based World Wide Web.
The FluxNet is based on standard internet technology and consists of
hyperlinked Flux images and movies just like the WWW consists of hyperlinked
HTML pages. The FluxNet will provide a platform for visually inclined people
to express their ideas and show off their work.
Like the WWW, the FluxNet is not owned by a person, company or any other
body. It is created by interested parties and anyone can contribute and set
links to other FluxNet sites.
An experimental first site of the FluxNet can be found at
http://flux.pcode.net. This site is at a very early stage and still under
construction, but it gives an idea of how the FluxNet can work. We will
update and develop this site constantly to explore possibilities and give
examples.
As long as the FluxNet has not reached a critical mass of hyperlinked images
and animations, it might be useful to set up a central register of Flux
sites on the internet to enable interested parties to register their Flux
site and to find other Flux sites they might want to link to. pCode is
currently working on a mailing list to initiate this process and get
interested parties involved.
You can subsribe to the FluxNet mailing list by sending a blank email with
the word 'FluxNet' to flux@pcode.net.
