This is a first of its kind conference in the UK that examines the interface between soma and techne.

Hosted by the University of Chichester in the southern part of the UK, with its idyllic rural setting, the conference offers the opportunity for both practical and theoretical understanding of its theme through keynote presentations, papers, roundtable discussions led by keynote speakers, a series of workshops and an art exhibit.

Leading contact improvisation practitioner Nancy Stark Smith will also be conducting The Global Underscore, an annual event during which dancers at many sites around the world practice the Underscore simultaneously.
