  • Location:
STORY, 144 10th Avenue, New York, New York, 10011, US

The innovative Pentax K-01 Hybrid Digital camera designed by industrial design star Marc Newson is here, and to celebrate Cool Hunting and STORY are hosting a See + Shoot Event this weekend, May 5 & 6, 2012.

The Shoot+See Event is a perfect opportunity for enthusiasts eager to test out the new Pentax K-01 for themselves. A dozen K-01 cameras will be on-hand at STORY to check out and try outside the store, as well as a representative from Pentax-Ricoh to discuss its special features. A Pentax Photographer will also be on site to take complimentary portraits; just in time for Mother’s Day.

The Shoot+See Event at STORY is from 1pm to 6pm on Saturday, May 5 and Sunday, May 6, 2012. Valid driver’s license and credit card must be provided to check out a K-01 for the designated time.

The Pentax K-01 will also be available for purchase: $899USD with the thin 0.36 inch (9.2 mm) thin, unifocal smc Pentax-DA 40mm F2.8 XS lens.

About the Pentax K-01
This is the first time the 93-year-old Japanese camera icon has collaborated with the design world, both in terms of its collaboration with Marc Newson and its roll out in retailers outside of camera stores. The collaboration also marks first time the multi-talented product designer Newson has delved into the photography and imaging arena.

About STORY
STORY, a pioneering new retail model; a 2000 square foot store located in Manhattan’s burgeoning new retail corridor of 10th avenue, STORY is a retail space that has the point of view of a magazine, changes like a gallery and sells things like a store. Every four to eight weeks, STORY will change out all its merchandise, design, fixtures and reinvent the store around a different story-based theme. STORY follows the successful soft launch of Shechtman’s widely-lauded beta exhibit A Startup Store. http://thisisstory.com
