Astral Projection Abduction Fantasy is a series of screenings, presenting a selection of video and screen based artworks which will be shown in the public context of Monster Truck Gallery’s NightScreen in Temple Bar, Dublin. Featuring over 30 artists and content creators from around the world, Astral Projection Abduction Fantasy consists of four one-week programmes, each dealing with a separate thematic exploring different territories within online culture.

Monster Truck Gallery is proud to present Astral Projection Abduction Fantasy, a series of screenings curated by the artist group Standard Features. The series presents an exciting selection of video and screen based artwork which will be shown in the public context of Monster Truck Gallery’s NightScreen in Temple Bar, Dublin. Featuring over 30 artists and content creators from around the world, Astral Projection Abduction Fantasy consists of four one-week programmes, each dealing with a separate thematic exploring different territories within online culture.

About the four programmes:
Captain Midnight (23-29 February) deals with appropriation, remixing and the hi-jacking of third party content, examining the ownership and formation of popular culture online.
Extra Vision (1-7 March) presents works which play with how our eyes perceive movement and colour on screen.
Worldbuilding (8-14 March) looks at the process of constructing imaginary worlds through the use of augmented realities and video game universes.
Dreamsaver (15-21 March) is a journey through phantasmic representations of spiritual states of mind mediated through technology.

Standard Features is a research based, collaborative group that uses fast paced, synergetic platforms for the exploration of ideas and the creation of new work. The content engages with issues concerning emerging visual cultures. The format ultilises physical and online territories. Standard Features is currently based in Dublin, Ireland. Standard Features HD is an extended feature of Standard Features.

NightScreen is Monster Truck Gallery’s street level, large-scale HD projection screen for presenting new screen based contemporary art, in Temple Bar, Dublin, Ireland.
