PREFACE: From a Non Power Poster– Just call me Wallflower ma-am

I have been on Rhizome, in the past around 9.11 and yes, that was a fruitive
time…
I felt I NEEDED to hear that Joyeria woman's posts about Firemen needing
fresh socks in the hullabulloo here in NYC especially where everything was
terrorist plots and I became agoraphobic and frightened of the possibility of
THEM (preOsama/we are Post/Osama) using say nerve gas saran (the kind used in
Japan) on the (underground) subway right?

I appreciate word on orgs I already know, as well as those I don;t– I have
learned a lot here despite the obtuse language which I think more and more in
some cases (thinking of CAE) can function as a type of encryption when one
desires going about activities and not having a capitalist freeforall read
circulate via fox the next day–


I like a lot of the stuff that is nothing like me but definately more than
semi-interesting…the call from a female poster to develop (among Lara Croft
denizens and game players) a "hack" that will liberate the macho figures from
the gamesites and (I don't have the post, I am lazy like that, some will have
read it) replace them with androgynous animals (lol) I laughed out loud!!!

I do not think politics should be separated from art, that would make this a
FORMALIST
and DOCTRINAIRE billboard/listserv what have u….it would make FOR ME art
all WRONG…

I am not a pure formalist, sometimes for political/ideological reasons "no
recognizable person" in any of it…ego dissolution being the end and a good
one I think…

I don't get anyone that doesn't have some ideas that they MUST in pomo world
address the big bad boogie of politics!

Now as far as this poetry goes (if you wanna call it that) this // slash
slash "poetry" in curly quotes…

I find it incredibly annoying and bad and it perturbs me and I do delete it
as I can, luckily like weeds in the sidewalks of NYC not too much of damage
and growth!

It may be used later on the person's resume "published at rhizome" ahhh the
truth emerges! Wow, so I will also begin to tweak poems <eg>

I did NOT like the bot, it was not a wellconceived "dialogue" that occurred
with Ada
yesterday but retrospectively one could say, hmm okay so then this with
Bot…"unveiled at Rhizome.org" (smirking, uh sorry, I am just thinking
Rhizome is a definate "brand" with an "identity")

At first, Death really annoyed me, I thought s(he) was over-the-top but then
I realized that the word "kneejerk" could be applied because
if I wasn't being annoyed and even if I was having annoyance
there is NO REASON that Death and I need to think alike
or post alike!!!

I had become amused at some of the more insightful things said about posters
who had been "read" pretty spot on…(I can be read too! I haven't put myself
out there yet long enough for anyone to, maybe soon?)

Spare me the Galahad that will turn around and make a v for victory while
punishing someone capitally (that BAD GUY) loling– and call a woman who
LIKES sex (or doesn't want it at all) a whore, or a frigid bitch
(consistently).
Like I said, SPARE (pause) ME!!

So Death is not a perfect avenger, they don't exist. That's clear enough.
But is Death ALWAYS wrong? Even you people that are MOST accustomed to the
habitual use of this habituated "unspoken rules" list (I am BOUND to be a bit
abridged of being new as well as analog in body and spirit digital in mind or
some piechart of that type)… apparently observed by those in their desks or
in their digidesign firms over hot coffee?

Okay, some people continued responding although the likelihood of a very
nasty return from
Zaphod was high– source of some comedy (I mean, I started loling at you
guys, as the more energy you gave to Zaph the more you were being rolled;
don't you think that the exerpts which were made of your words in RIPOSTE
were not hysterical to people other than yourselves, SOME (I suppose) and

It likely depended on what kind of a day you were having when you first
encountered the Zaphod entity and whatever but moderating an arts board like
rhizome? Sheesh, I was about as taken with this long and ridiculous german
hyphenated Sacher-Von-Masoch Von-Willem Tell's Overture-Von Trapp Famil

uh bs about the Zapatistas and the Hamas groups have relevance as perhaps
"antisemitic anticapitalist" in some pseudo intellectual bogus display of the
absurdity which apparently zionists will go to today (I am NOT an antisemite,
it's about as sensible as when my dad's wife (stepmom) heard I had "shaved my
head" after gallbladder surgery and she being jewish, and not liking or
trusting me NOT to eat her for lunch (evidentally) believed I went Sinead
bald (the 80's) and was NOW a "skinhead" by default rolling in nazisms and
antisemitism when the truth was my hair was cooked and hard to care for while
I was in the old opry theatre of a hospital and FESTERING (ugh, post
surgically) which is not pretty "darllings" especially for a punker gurrrl.

So, the crux of this "amazing german man" that had lived in Kurdistan (which
alone doesn't make anyone right or wrong; this man who says he is leftwing
and then reaches out for the capital PUHLEASE) was that one "could be" (now
bear with me, or read it) "Antisemitic" by virtue of merely being involved in
schemes to liberate the peoples with peoples armies that are of indigenous
origin and by opposing banking and capitalism with ANY other than a Marxist
schema….??? WH WH WHATT? It is like my Dad said "You can be a Drunkard and
a Lush without drinking a drop if you are an alcholic you are a dry drunk"
Now, Antisemite by virtue of opposing Starbucks and the WTO and IMF?? What a
clever right wing tactic really!!

I know about the Kurds from a book I recommend on "War Crimes" which holds
ALL the "war criminals" culpable. It indicts the Iraquis in a chapter on the
atrocities committed against the Kurds. It also holds Sharon culpable for
the crimes committed against the Palestinians. The suicide bombers became
most virulent AFTER pub of this book, but this book rawks. It talks about
contras, it speaks of Sandinistas…it is a UN type of "attempt" at
objectivity which does NOT shun looking at the dead bodies tied to trucks
(horrible to witness) by the USA in Vietnam– nor from showing the victims of
gas in Kurdistan. It has pics. Most importantly it is designed to help
understand words like "collateral damage" in the most clear, lucid and
"example" laden way! "Crimes of War" is it's name (I believe) if anyone
wants the name, it's black and white, I got it for a fair price Barnes and
Noble if you know NYC at 14th street and it is GOOD. So, go for it, I am not
sure however, having gotten it IMMEDIATELY post 9.11 if they are still in
stock (so much, under this administration it appears to me has been
jettisoned).

So I am AMAZED at all the hoopla by people I seemed to respect last Sept 11
who appear to have really become confused overnight as to what on earth the
Zapatista uprising in Chiapas might have to do with err the perpetuation of
the hatred of Jewish Bankers! (Does it count that BOTH parents in my family
are non-Jewish goy bankers?) What the firk?

So, amidst some chicanery, idiocy, and let's try to believe "harmless"
language exchange over poetry, life, bots, that annoying genius 2000 sfmoma
poster (sorry you are probably a power poster but I lived out in San Fran and
went to Yerba Buena to avoid the SFMoma dregs….I don't know why anyone
would even pay attention to SFMoma when at Yerba Buena they had exhibits on
surfing, turntablism, net art and computer art in general, they always had
the nice happy apples waiting for free use in the cafe for the price of a
coffee and I spent HOURS when I was without a laptop even scanning and
scrolling, happily! They also had racks of zines constantly being
replenished from things like "maximum rock n roll" 70's Tomato Du Plenty…I
saw a flick on Guillermo Gomez Pena in the theater, people were NICE,
younguns that lived in Hostels and smoked ganja were SECURITY again, nice,
and I also saw "my Femme Divine" about a woman's excursion into the neo-Butch
identity ala the new era of gender branding fin de millenium….(all in the
year I lived out there).

I guarantee that SFMoma treats Genius 2000 (it's getting late going on 2003)
as it appears some wish to treat Zaphod. It's rather crude cutlery innit?

Oh, and nothing against people that need to work since I did go to SFMoma
once for a job interview to create well written scrips for a website I never
did get to help make damn me!!!! But I don't like most Momas. I don't do
Moma here in NYC either (it is rare). More art happens elsewhere; like
Washington Park (sometimes, I have a little bit of these
rapper/breakPLUSdancers..on video, I wish I got more, good stuff!!)

Now I was in NYC last year and this and I am glad to see so much diversity
and I take raw to mean RAW. I have to delete (well I do delete) almost ALL
of the Genius 2000 posts (not a mover and shaker in the artworld, nope not
me) which is something that you likely would never have known, or needed to
know, it's an example of how I conduct myself with the lists here IN THE
PRIVACY OF MY HOME and no hard feelings okee dokee…

I also find the modernism and the sloppy speech of many ARTEESTS annoying but
if I was at a poets and writers site I would be betwixt and between zaphoding
and being a more zenlike Whid poster which I happen to keep to view many of
the useful links later….

Now should we EACH do a deconstruction (I have been 2 days on the board since
getting bogged down and almost crashing ISP last year) on WHICH posts EACH OF
US likes?? Is this not an ever changing display? It seems there IS a
comptroller if people are appealing and I didn't even guess, mercy me…

Is it so analog or (insert what is wrong with the Zaph) of the Zaphod poster
to not want to talk bots (which were admitted by artist not the MOST realized
AI whether or not this was true) or to dislike bots…or was it wrong to
deconstruct speech, mine is as open for it's fair share, rearrange me, the
fact is, you are already rearranging Zaphod, genus, species etc.

It's really really FUNNY and amusing..I think, indicative of a general trend
in human species…that many people could apparently (the interesting side of
the bot posting) eventually with enough "tooling" (advice if you mean to do
it really: get actors and theater writers, they at least focus a great deal
on the emulation of speech, but find some with a sense of the net, you can
make a "a better bot" :) the bot would be able to stand in for the genius
2000 (that is a predictable case)….and Mez (a formalist of a different
breed, I don't mind mezzing, although around 9.11 I wished to MAKE IT STOP
lol PLEASE (briefly) :)

So pragmatism (the mail load) vs. what? I am just saying I DELETE WITHOUT
READING MORE of OTHER than Zaph. ?????

Maybe there are more of us "nonpowerposters" sitting it out in the "dugout"
(i think that is it's name)

'way out' clear. But humans never choose their will. Regardless
of all the talk about it.

So yeah, I suppose it can be seen as 'funny' that these people
know what to do, and they spend their whole lives DOING SOMETHING
ELSE. In fact, doing EVERYTHING ELSE besides what their will–dream is.
And then it's Death's fault in the end.

Maybe it's comedic in a Shakespearean sort of way,
but Death + I don't find this a funny matter at all.
And he is an impeccable gentleman.
